October gives a party; the leaves by hundreds will come—
The Chestnuts, Oaks & Maples, and leaves of every one.
L.V. Harkness will spread a carpet, and all will be grand.
William Yeoward will lead the dancing, Sandra Jordan the band.
The Meissen will come in yellow, Dempsey & Carroll in crimson dress;
The dashing Grainger McKoy, in gold will look his best.
In the halls of L.V. Harkness, with wine and food we’ll play;
The party won’t close until sundown, and everybody will stay!
On October 19th, L.V. Harkness hosted their Autumn Celebration. This event featured the glass of William Yeoward, silver of Sandra Jordan, porcelain of Meissen, stationery of Dempsey & Carroll and the jewelry of Grainger McKoy.
William Yeoward
The design inspiration for William Yeoward Crystal is drawn from antique pieces originally made in England and Ireland during the 18th and early 19th centuries. Every piece of William Yeoward Crystal is entirely made by hand using the same traditional methods employed over 150 years ago. Unusual hand cutting and engraving are distinctive elements of William Yeoward Crystal, producing beautiful yet practical pieces. The crystal has become a favorite with brides and the stylish hostess for its sense of contemporary glamour and tradition. Admired by designers and interior decorators and sought after by collectors, William Yeoward Crystal is an invitation to living with style.
Sandra Jordan
Sandra Jordan’s artistic vision reflects her own wine country lifestyle, yet has universal appeal. By cultivating traditions of handcrafted excellence, she has created a collection that exhibits timeless beauty. Relevant in today’s world, these items many of which have a fascinating history, will also be treasured by future generations.
Meissen
The Meissen Manufactory, one of the leading German luxury brands worldwide, has stood for “the art of luxury” since it was founded in 1710. Products from Meissen are defined by the special qualities of their material, by traditional artisan craftsmanship and by outstanding aesthetics that symbolize individuality, sensuousness and worth. In the early 18th century endeavors were in Meissen to unlock the secret of porcelain manufacturing. The hard work ended successfully. In 1708 in Meissen, white porcelain was manufactured for the first time in Europe under the leadership of Johann Friedrich Böttger. 275 years later, the standards are no different.
Dempsey & Carroll
Like no other stationery in the world, Dempsey & Carroll has enjoyed for over 125 years a spotless reputation as the finest purveyor of engraved social stationery. By using hand-engraved steel dies and copper plates made to specification, the finest inks, and the most luxurious cotton-fiber papers, Dempsey & Carroll creates a rich experience for both the giver and receiver of personal correspondence. The company’s commitment to exacting standards and meticulous attention to detail has distinguished its business for the truly discriminating.
Grainger McKoy
L.V. Harkness began carrying the Grainger McKoy jewelry collection two years ago. Each jewelry design is of or about a bird, and each starts with a piece of wood and a sharp blade. Some designs strive for a particular artistic element, while others emerge while a sculpture is in progress. Come see it for yourself on October 19th, when Grainger Jr. will have the full portfolio of his father's work at L.V. Harkness.
