Cocktails with Carleton

Charmed by Lexington earlier this year, designer Carleton Varney will be visiting again. A past featured speaker at the Blue Grass Trust's 14th Annual Antiques and Garden Show in March 2011, Mr. Varney has a new book out, titled Mr. Color: The Greenbrier and Other Decorating Adventures. He will be at L.V. Harkness  on October 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Carleton Varney is the president of Dorothy Draper & Company Incorporated. He writes a regular syndicated column that appears in The Palm Beach Daily News  and has published twenty-seven books on decorating, penned two novels and written the official biography of Dorothy Draper. Varney has been the design consultant to the White House, decorated Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel, and now serves as the curator and designer to the Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia. He often appears on his live HSN television show Live Vivid.
