Johann Joachim Kaendler's monkey orchestra is one of the most world famous Meissen Classics, Nearly a quarter of a millenium after their creation, we have now re-equipped these untamed musicians for the greater service and pleasure of our clients. Christian Schoppler has transformed them into six decorative motifs. These adorn coffee cups which may look modern, but are actually of neo-classical origin. With these decors a circle in the developmental history of the monkey orchestra may now be more or less closed. They consciously take up Kaendler's preliminary watercolour studies from 1753.
