The Blue Fluted service dates from the 1770's and was one of the first patterns to be used when the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory was founded in 1775. The Fluted pattern is produced in three different designs: Plain, Half Lace and Full Lace.

The Plain Service was the first Blue Fluted pattern to be created in 1775. With its classic design all pieces are assembled, painted and glazed by hand, and all lids are topped with pretty snail shells.

Hard paste porcelain had been all the rage among the rich and powerful of Europe since its introduction from Japan and China in the 1700's. It was known as “white gold" because of its exorbitant cost, and every European court wanted its own hard paste porcelain manufactory to not only stem the flow monies from its coffers, but also for the prestige of boasting their own most beautiful opulent pieces.
