Royal Copenhagen's newest design is Blue Fluted Mega, which comes with an intriguing story. In 2000, a young design student, Karen Kjaeldgaard Larsen contacted the manufactory for a new version of Blue Fluted. The pattern was much larger and was repeated in fragments. This design, based on genuine affection for the traditional Blue Fluted pattern, brought the design completely up to date. It was immediately embraced by Royal Copenhagen, and the result is Blue Fluted Mega.

Hard paste porcelain had been all the rage among the rich and powerful of Europe since its introduction from Japan and China in the 1700's.
